Who am I?

Hi! I want to tell you a bit about my journey because it has built my approach to movement and the way I teach.

A few years back, I was quite disconnected to my body, and what I mean here is that I was not able to listen to the cues of my body, trying instead to shield myself from my emotions. I was quite active but I am not sure my relationship with sports was the healthiest, overdoing it sometimes, mainly because of body dismorphia… until I pushed to hard and injured my back. When I encontered yoga, I first saw it only as a mean to ‘fix’ my lower back, only focused on the pain that was there. With this practice though, I discover much more than just anothe way to stretch: I open myself to the spiritual aspect of yoga and, through mindfulness and breathing, learn a way to heal and not only the physical aches. I had already fallen in love with pole dance back then, but my approach to it changed. After allowing myself to feel my body and listen to it, I was able to see it and move it to express through dancing. I then started to explore more my feminity with pole heels (aka Exotic).

My teaching is reflecting a lot my navigation through Movement, I love sharing with my students my discoveries – that are never ending by the way. Whatever the discipline, my focus is on being mindful, on feeling rather than pushing, on listening to your body rather than disconnecting from it, and reminding you a LOT to breath (which is not that obvious upside-down!)

A final thought on what how I see my practices? Yoga flow to stay grounded and connected to my emotions; Contortion to dive deeper within, explore my boundaries and seek comfort in the uncomfort; Pole Dance to fly and feel free with the exhilarating off the ground sensations; Pole Heels to express my feminity and sensuality.
